The ORA provides promotion and development of objective, science-based rating systems for fair handicapping of offshore-capable racing yachts.

The ORR predicts relative time allowances between boats to permit boats of different sizes, types and ages to compete with the fairest ratings possible.

  • Organization of personnel to provide direct communication to the racing community

US Sailing

US Sailing provides leadership, integrity and advancement for the sport of sailing.

  • Collection and measurement data and process certificates
  • Training and certification of measurers for measuring boats and maintaining equipment as may be required
  • Collection of certificate fees
  • Maintenance of the database of measurement information
  • Transmission of rating data to race committees for scoring
  • Interfacing with measurers, race committees and sailors as necessary to support items above
